Meet the Team

Founder & CEO

Mike is a former nationally ranked high school tennis player and, for two seasons, the #1 player at the University of Massachusetts. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. He has been fitness training professionally since 2007 and is a career trainer. He is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer(CPT), Performance Enhancement Specialist(PES), and Nutrition Specialist. He is, also, TRX certified and is currently studying for his EXOS Performance Specialist certification and TPI Golf certification.

Mike was born and raised in Boston and has always been involved in sports: playing basketball, football, baseball, and hockey. He loves working with all types of clients ranging from elite athletes to the novice just starting on their fitness journey. For the past 3 years, Mike has been a top trainer at the most exclusive and elite teams in the fitness industry, Prescriptive Fitness. Along with co-founder Matt Nunn, Mike has discovered a new dream: to provide the most premier personal training, yoga, and massage therapy to clients in the comforts of their own luxury buildings.

Matt is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sciences with an emphasis in Health Fitness Instruction. He is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and certified TRX instructor.

For the past 3 years, Matt has been one of the top trainers of Charlotte’s most elite personal training team, Prescriptive Fitness. His previous experience training everyone from elite athletes to beginners just starting their fitness journey has allowed him to gain priceless experience that has lead to his new endeavor. He has focused his attention on creating an unrivaled concierge wellness service company, Building Bodies.

Chiropractor

Dr. Klaus is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida and received his undergraduate in Exercise Science from Winthrop University in South Carolina.  While at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Klaus developed a passion for movement and mobility. He has always been fascinated by the complexity of the human body and musculoskeletal system

 His passion led him to continue his education in the Functional Range Systems Courses where he became a Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, Functional Range Release Provider, and Functional Range Assessment Specialist.

His mission is to get people out of pain, maximize performance, and help others live a long and healthy lifestyle.  He utilizes his skills and experience as a former athlete, sports performance coach and personal trainer in his approach to helping others achieve their goals.

Massage Therapist

Montrel is a versatile massage therapist with over 5 years experience. He graduated from the Dayton School of neuromuscular and medical massage and has honed the skills necessary to make to make individuals feel at their best. Studying kinesiology at The Ohio State University, Montrel developed a passion for focusing on awareness and self-care. How do you ask? By connecting and preventing repetitive motor injuries that occur from everyday activities (RMI). 

Montrel has experienced an onset of clinical, spa, and gym settings utilizing the muscles’ strengths and weaknesses. He offers deep tissue, Swedish, reflexive, and prenatal massages. He even offers an eastern medicine modality and spiritual alignment of cranial Sacral therapies under the pupils of D.O. Dr John Upleadger. Through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. This removes “blockages” from the normal flow, which enhances the body’s ability to heal.

Massage Therapist

I am a licensed massage therapist and I hold multiple certifications that revolve around integrating the Body and Mind. My ongoing passion stems from my training in a soft tissue manual therapy in Structural Integration, the Dr. Ida Rolf Method. Additionally, I am well-versed in advanced myofascial release techniques and neuromuscular massage. I am a certified integrative restoration meditation teacher, iRest and finally, a trauma sensitive RYT 200 yoga instructor.

My work, a Body Work Experience with you leading the way, is a partnership between client and therapist. It is through this understanding that at the heart of all lasting change is the capacity to help yourself. I promise to meet you where you are and bring what I call Em-Bod-Ease to your being.

Massage Therapist

Amy has been a licensed massage therapist for 19 years. She earned her massage therapy license from the South Technical Education Center in Boynton Beach Florida. She has worked on pro athletes and in medical offices during her massage therapy career. Amy is highly experienced in deep tissue massage, sports massage, Swedish massage, and trigger point therapy. Her experience and technique enables her to help each client with their treatment goals. She also has experience with hot stone and prenatal massage therapy. 

Personal Trainer

Giavonni is a NCCA certified action personal trainer and strength and mobility specialist. He is a young, highly motivated trainer in Charlotte, NC who is looking to grow in the personal training field by helping others fulfill their personal fitness goals.

Giavonni played division 1 basketball at Texas Southern University and finished his last year at UNC Pembroke where he received his bachelors degree in exercise science. While obtaining his degree, he studied through NSCM to become an exercise physiologist and, also, became certified in stretch therapy at Restore Hyperwellness and Cryotherapy. This holistic approach allows Giavonni to not only coach you through intense personal training sessions, but also cater to your body by making sure you are following the right steps to help you recover after each session. Giavonni is extremely motivated and passionate about his work and cannot wait to help you accomplish your goals.

Personal Trainer

Antwon is a passionate and driven personal trainer. Originally from Georgia, he always saw a bigger picture. This picture led him into the Army reserves at age 17. After a year of wanting to see more of the world, he enlisted into Active Duty Army.

Serving 8 years in the United States Army is where he began his love for fitness and health. He started training on his first of three combat tours, helping maintain the physical conditions of his soldiers and unit as a whole. During his 3rd combat tour he took his passion to the next level and became certified through ISSA (International School of Sports Science). During his last year in the Army Antwon started training clients and decided that the joy and satisfaction he received from helping people reach their goals physically was his purpose. After completing his active military service he relocated to Charlotte still a National Guard member but to focus on becoming a better and dynamic personal trainer. Many of his relatives and family members have faced health complications and this drives Antwon to help others build a healthier lifestyle that will last forever. 

Personal Trainer

Mary Bryan graduated from Salem College with a degree in business management and worked in business and banking in Charlotte for many years before retiring to raise her children.

As she raised her children, Mary Bryan volunteered in Charlotte in many capacities. But it was not until after being diagnosed with breast cancer that she found her true career and calling: inspiring others to be their strongest selves – whether in their pursuit of personal fitness or in their own battles with breast cancer. With that, she came out of retirement to become an ASCM certified personal trainer. She launched MBfit Charlotte and has worked with the Prescriptive Fitness team for 7 years and ThriveCarolinas since their opening in 2017.

Personal Trainer

Nick is a graduate from Winthrop University with a degree in exercise science focused in strength and conditioning and nutrition. He has been certified by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and by EXOS as a Performance Specialist. 

While earning his degree, Nick has worked with countless athletes and clients to achieve their highest potential. He has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for EXOS and Wingate University. In 2014, a Traumatic Brain Injury ended his football career and led to his obsession with rehab, health and wellness. Nick has developed a passion for living and helping others live a healthy, thriving lifestyle. When he’s not training, Nick enjoys mountain biking, skiing, golf and obstacle course racing.

Personal Trainer

Jaclyn is a lifetime athlete and lettered in both soccer and basketball in her hometown of Lancaster, PA. She later became a high school basketball coach and trained many high school athletes in a variety of sports to improve their on court/field performance.

Jaclyn graduated from Kutztown University with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After moving to Charlotte, she realized that health and fitness was her true passion and achieved a CPT certification. Jaclyn has been training clients on her own for 4 years and truly enjoys helping clients achieve their fitness goals. She is extremely motivated to reach as many people as she can and believes that Building Bodies is the perfect way to do so. You will undoubtedly get a motivated, committed, and passionate individual if you choose Jaclyn as your personal trainer.
