Deep Tissue Massage therapy
Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as: stiff neck and upper back, lower back pain, leg muscle tightness, sore shoulders, etc…

Additional Therapy Services
Assisted Stretching allows you to experience a deeper stretch through additional, gentle pressure applied by your therapist. Shortened muscles can become fragile and weak – adding unnecessary pressure on tendons and pulling bones out of their natural alignment. This can result in muscle, join, and back pain, as well as related injuries. one of the biggest benefits of regular stretching is to lengthen the muscles, thereby reducing the stress and pressure on the tendons and joints. Other benefits of stretching include: enhanced muscular coordination, increased circulation, energy, and range of motion, and reduced muscle tension.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Connective tissues called fascia surrounds the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body.

Montrel is a versatile massage therapist with over 5 years experience. He graduated from the Dayton School of neuromuscular and medical massage and has honed the skills necessary to make to make individuals feel at their best. Studying kinesiology at The Ohio State University, Montrel developed a passion for focusing on awareness and self-care. How do you ask? By connecting and preventing repetitive motor injuries that occur from everyday activities (RMI).
Montrel has experienced an onset of clinical, spa, and gym settings utilizing the muscles’ strengths and weaknesses. He offers deep tissue, Swedish, reflexive, and prenatal massages. He even offers an eastern medicine modality and spiritual alignment of cranial Sacral therapies under the pupils of D.O. Dr John Upleadger. Through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. This removes “blockages” from the normal flow, which enhances the body’s ability to heal.

I am a licensed massage therapist and I hold multiple certifications that revolve around integrating the Body and Mind. My ongoing passion stems from my training in a soft tissue manual therapy in Structural Integration, the Dr. Ida Rolf Method. Additionally, I am well-versed in advanced myofascial release techniques and neuromuscular massage. I am a certified integrative restoration meditation teacher, iRest and finally, a trauma sensitive RYT 200 yoga instructor.
My work, a Body Work Experience with you leading the way, is a partnership between client and therapist. It is through this understanding that at the heart of all lasting change is the capacity to help yourself. I promise to meet you where you are and bring what I call Em-Bod-Ease to your being.
- Em – “Put in or into, bring into a certain state. “
- Body – “The physical structure of a person including the bones, flesh, and organs”
- Ease – “Move with Grace”

I really look forward to my sessions with Matt!! He is energetic and always changing the workouts to shock my system and as a result the results have been better than expected, both in weight and strength. At 51 yrs old, I’m more tone now than I was 5 yrs ago when I only worked out alone and I’ve maintained a healthy weight while gaining muscle. Due to an accident, I had limited flexibility in my wrists. After six months the flexibility is much better. In addition, my strength is much better as is my endurance. Matt changes every workout and helps me focus on the exercises at hand while pushing me to go further. I’d tell new members to trust Matt and trust the process. I’ve worked out weekly for 20 yrs and this is hands down the best experience I’ve had.

I've become stronger, fitter and more active both physically and mentally and it's all because of the workouts I do with Matt & those he gives me to do alone. I have lost 30lbs, gained muscle and increased my muscle strength. My greatest accomplishment has been losing the weight and improving my overall health. Matt pushes me to do more than I think I can and I am always surprised at how strong I've become. Make the commitment to yourself, stay focused and stay consistent - it doesn't matter how long it takes, you'll get there.

Matt has not only transformed my physical physique, but has also created a healthy lifestyle that has greatly impacted my overall health. I'm less stressed out, happier to get up every morning and feel great about myself. I came to Matt out of shape and twenty pounds overweight. I have shed over 20 pounds and this is the strongest I have been since college. Friends and family members that haven't seen me in a while are blown away by the transformation. I was amazed how easily the weight started to fall off by committing to a workout routine with Matt and tweaking my diet. I look forward to each and every workout with Matt as he keeps consistently changing the routines to keep things fun and me working in the right direction towards my goals. What I like most about there workouts is the variety. It's never the same workout twice and Matt is the perfect combination of listening to what I'm saying and pushing me to reach my goals.

An excellent gym needs an excellent trainer and that is just what the Encore, South Park has managed to create through its modern facilities. Matt has been my personal trainer for the last year and whenever I am in town (I travel frequently on business) he has accommodated me by fitting me in to his busy schedule. But it goes way beyond just that. I have been a fitness fanatic for most of my life. Having played professional rugby and enjoyed tennis, golf and running there are not many training exercises with which I have not been confronted. That is, until I met Matt. Every time he seems to come up with something new. There is nothing routine about spending an hour with Matt as your personal trainer. He carefully explains that which is expected of you in an exercise and the expected results. He is aware of your condition during the session, ameliorating or increasing the exercise level accordingly. He seems particularly adept at finding those areas that need most work and at the end of a session and the following day you are keenly aware of the muscle here, the stiffness there, that evidence the workout effectiveness. It is my believe that I am overall body fitter today than at any time in the last 40 years and all thanks to Matt.

I’ve been practicing yoga for 20+ years and every time I go to Laura’s class I feel challenged in a new way. Laura’s style during class pushes me to do more while at the same time helping me go deep to focus on my breath, leaving me feeling more connected.

I am addicted to training with Mike! I was dedicated to my gym routine before I met him, but was working hard and not achieving the results I desired. Nothing has had the transformative effect on my body as training with him. After having 4 kids, I’m in the best shape of my life. I train with him 3 times a week and we have never done the same workout twice. He still comes up with new and challenging exercises for me to do and is happy to adjust the type of training and focus depending on my goals. He has also become a great friend and someone I completely trust. He isn’t ever allowed to move or he will have to take me with him!

With an abundance of conflicting information out there, it was challenging to find the best exercise regime that helped me meet my goals and that fit into my schedule. Working with Mike completely changed my life. I worked with him for over a year and couldn't be more pleased with the results and the knowledge that I gained. Within four months, Mike drastically transformed my physique and the results kept coming. Mike's focus, passion, and motivating attitude is highly contagious and genuine. He goes above and beyond for his clients to make them feel valued, appreciated, and accomplished. Working with Mike will be the best decision of your life.

Laura is my favorite Yoga teacher in Charlotte. I have been practicing yoga for about 6 years and I’m also a Certified Personal Trainer. Health and Wellness has been a part of me all my life. Recently moving to Charlotte, I had built A Yoga studio and training facility in Southwest Fla. I immediately can pick up the vibe of an authentic yogi. Laura not only teaches an amazing class, I know she incorporates yoga into her life. Yoga has changed me from the inside out. When you meet someone like Laura who doesn’t just practice yoga for “exercise”; that is when you truly benefit. The days I attend her class are the days I wake up knowing fun will be had, release will be made and I will feel 100% better about my true being. Laura is a gem and a true spirit of helping others.

In my line of work, I receive a significant number of requests on any given day. I'm asked to speak, to volunteer, to provide philanthropic support, etc... But when Mike asked me to take a moment and write a testimonial about him and his training regiment, it was an eays "Yes!" His personalized, creative, and challenging training methods have made a huge difference in my life. Mike's attention to detail to make you fitter and stronger is remarkable. I would recommend Mike to anyone if they want to change their life.
